Meet the People Behind Smart Africa Guide
Varsha Asrani– Education & Career Insights Specialist

Varsha is an accomplished lecturer, writer, and education professional with over 11 years of experience in teaching, corporate finance, and content creation. She currently works as a Lecturer at JG University in Ahmedabad, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also serves as a faculty lecturer with upGrad, and has taught with Talentedge and the Abroad Unified Pathway Program, reaching students in India and Australia.
Earlier in her career, Varsha worked as an Assistant Manager at Welspun Gujarat, where her responsibilities included finance, accounting, and capital budgeting. This corporate foundation, combined with her Master’s degree in Finance, allows her to bridge theory and practice — delivering content and lectures that are accurate, relevant, and practical.
Beyond academics, Varsha has been a freelance blogger and content writer for more than a decade. She has written extensively for clients across technology, parenting, travel, investment, finance, real estate, and education. Her ability to adapt across industries while simplifying complex subjects makes her a trusted voice for students, professionals, and global readers alike.
Tarun Asrani – Research & Strategy Lead

Tarun is a business professional and digital strategist with more than 15 years of international and entrepreneurial experience. Since 2009, he has served as the Country Representative for Salco Fashions in Zambia, Malawi, and Rwanda, working closely with diplomats, dignitaries, and professionals. His role involves crafting bespoke solutions and managing cross-border relationships, which has given him deep insight into global markets and diverse cultures.
He has also worked as Managing Partner at Websquare IT, a web and app development company based in Ahmedabad, India. During this time, he gained hands-on expertise in digital platforms, business growth, and online strategy.
Alongside his business ventures, Tarun has been a freelance blogger and content strategist for over a decade, creating content across domains including technology, finance, travel, parenting, education, and lifestyle. His strength lies in research and structuring information in a way that is clear, practical, and easy to act on.
